I have always had an interest in the “why” of things. Trying to learn how to do something without knowing the reason was never the route for me. I have a pretty good collection of books about web design, but my favorites focus on the end users and the reasons behind designer choices.

A great book that covers layout, color, texture, typograhpy, and imagery. It’s a quick read that’s perfect for someone just starting out in the design world.

This book takes you into the process side of designing a new website. Elliot is quite personable which makes it pleasant to read. He has a great way of breaking down his examples and taking them outside of web design.
Who needs to read a book on web form design? Everyone. I was skeptical to pick this one up, but it certainly paid off. It features solid examples of good and bad form design.
